Responsible AI, Research & Representation - Network
The Responsible AI, Research and Representation Network (R3 Network) is part of STAHRC and is Directed by Dr Alan Chamberlain and brings together multidisciplinary researchers, artists and professionals from the Arts & Humanities, Design, and Technology. A key feature of the R3 Network is that one of our initial area focus relates to responsible representation - this will be explored in three distinct ways: the development of representative and equitable research teams, representative participation and engagement, and representative regulation, policy and law-making. These area are key to providing and understanding responsible approaches to developing and using AI-based systems. We encourage people to explore, engage, reflect and share their experiences as part of our research.
As part of the R3 Network we are also exploring these issues in the context of the academic research ecosystem at the University of Nottingham, where we will examine issues relating to responsible researcher representation, engagement/policy & research culture. Our aim in this area is to be able to provide insights that will have a positive impact and support strategy and policy, leading the way and supporting other organisations and projects in terms of developing responsible research ecosystems for all.
As part of the network, we are engaged in organising related workshops and activities that engage with the academic community, and public.
